Preferences

This page is used for customizing the appearance and operation of your account settings and functions. The Personalize page includes:

Password

Some users may be able to change their password by entering it into the password field and the confirmation password field and then saving the form information.  If you get an error saying the password is invalid you must use a strong password which contains at least 5 characters, at least one capital letter and a number.  An example of a strong password is "Example1".

Language

This is the language in which the email client’s pages will appear.

Theme

This is the format or scheme that WorldClient will use when sending pages to your browser - i.e. Globe, Standard, frames, no frames, JavaScript with frames, a company Theme, etc.

Note

There may or may not be multiple themes available for use. If there are multiple themes available to you regarding frames or browser functionality (e.g. Java or JavaScript enabled), you should choose the highest level theme that your browser will support. You can always download the latest versions of Mozilla’s and Microsoft’s browsers free of charge from their web sites.

Style

This is the “look” of your pages (i.e. font colors and sizes, background colors, and so on). Choose your favorite. This does not change the layout of your pages. Layout and controls are determined by the Theme. LookOut has several styles.

Skip Initial Mail Check

Checking this option will help those with many, many folders log in faster to WorldClient by not counting all of the messages in all of the folders.  Counts for the Inbox will be done.

Collapse My Nested Folders

This option helps users with many nested folders to load the LookOut theme faster.  By collapsing the folder list rendering of the folders is delayed and the browser can move onto other pages for loading.

Empty Trash on Sign Out

Click this checkbox if you want your Trash folder to be emptied after you sign out of WorldClient.

Add Replies to Contacts

Check this checkbox to have all people that you reply to in email address and name (if available) added to your default address book.

Preferred Multipart Format

Sometimes an incoming message will be available in both plain text and HTML format (used for colors, fonts, bold text, etc.). When reading one of these messages, this is the format in which you want the message to be displayed.

Note

This is only applicable to messages that are available in both formats. Messages that are available in a single format will be displayed in the format appropriate to the message.

List Refresh Time

The setting determines how often your Message Listing will be refreshed. You can also refresh the Listing by clicking   Get Mail or   on the Navigation bar.

List Messages Per Page

This is the maximum number of messages that will be displayed at any given time in the Message Listing. You can view additional messages by paging through the Message Listing with the page controls. Using '0' (zero) will display all messages in the folder, however you should be aware that this can substantially slow down the performance of your browser and your computer if you have a large number of messages in the folder.  Thousands of messages at a time can render your computer almost useless on a slow dial-up connection due to the multiple megabyte file that is generated on the server that will have to be downloaded.  It is recommended that you set the value to 250 or less messages per page.

Note

The minimum number that you can set this control to is five.

Contacts Per Page

Set the number of contacts per page in the address book view.  Using a '0' (zero) value will output all contacts that are in the address book.  If you have a large address book then displaying many or all of the addresses at once will slow down the loading of the page.

Sort Order

Use this control to designate the default method by which you wish to sort the messages on the Message Listing. You can sort messages by: Subject, From (Sender), Date, or Size in either ascending or descending order.

For more information, see: Sorting the Message Listing.

Name Format

This control is for specifying the format in which you want the From: to be displayed in the Message Listing - the sender’s Full Name, Email Address, or both.

List All Attachments

Whenever possible, WorldClient will display graphic and text file attachments inline as part of the message. All other attachments will be listed at the bottom. Click this option if you would like attachments that are displayed inline to be included in the list as well.

View Messages In New Window

Tells WorldClient whether you want to view messages in new window or the preview pane.  If you automatically display the messages this could possibly open your computer up to certain malicious emails that contain JavaScript code intended to harm your computer.

Hide Day View Pane

When LookOut loads it displays the Day View pane by default.  By changing this setting you can have the day view load up hidden in the frames.

Show Contacts Pane

If you have many mailbox folders you may not want to display the Contacts pane when LookOut loads, changing this setting will allow you to tell WorldClient whether you want the contacts pane to open by default or to have it closed by default.

Autoresponder

You can enable the autoreponder and then set some text that will be sent between the start and stop dates and times.  Make sure that you set an end time that is some time in the future or the autoresponder will not function.

Forwarding

You may forward messages from this account to another email account by enabling the forwarding option.  You can choose to retain a local copy of the message (which should be filtered as your filters are set), after enabling forwarding you must type in the email address that the message will be sent to.
