What's New in WorldClient 9.5? |
|
|
WorldClient 9.5 introduces various features for all of the themes and specific features for the flagship theme, LookOut.
From WorldClient 9.5 All Desktop Based Themes Notes The groupware feature Notes allows you to keep track of simple text notes for reference later. Notes are useful for documenting details that may not be affiliated with Tasks or Calendar events [LookOut, Standard, Simple, Redline, Globe].
Better Compose View Performance WorldClient offers several new user options to help you select settings that effect performance. You can now select which HTML Compose editor plugins get loaded. The fewer plugins you need the faster the HTML editor should load up. See the Compose Options for the theme you use to learn more [LookOut, Standard, Simple, Redline, Globe].
Simplified Contacts Dialog The contact editing dialog has been simplified to help ease its use as well as allow you to set contact information not previously available when needed [LookOut, Standard, Simple, Redline, Globe].
Improved Login Speed when Skip Initial Mail Check is Disabled If you have the "Skip Initial Mail Check" option disabled in your Personalize options page set this change in the server code should help you log into WorldClient more efficiently.
New Filter Options The WorldClient filter integration with MDaemon and IMAP clients has new sorting options to allow you to sort messages by size and to delete messages before they reach your inbox.
Task View Paging The task view now supports paging so folders with large amounts of tasks will load faster
Faster Pocket PC Theme The Pocket PC theme should load faster now and use text links for navigation instead of icons.
From WorldClient 9.0 All Desktop Based Themes Copy/Move Contacts, Calendar Events and Tasks You can now copy or move not just messages but also Contacts, Calendar Events and Tasks to other folders of the appropriate type. The steps required for achieving this vary between the themes and you will need to view the specific help section for the theme you are interested in exploring.
Accept or Decline Meeting Invitations If you get an iCal attachment in an email, WorldClient will show you a new toolbar row that will give you the option to view the attachment or reply to the invitation with an accepting or a declining message.
HTML Compose for IE & Firefox You can now compose rich text messages in IE and Firefox (and other Gecko browsers). The new editor has also been internationalized to many languages for international users. Browsers such as Safari and Opera may be supported in the future as their development in these areas continues.
UTF-8 Support WorldClient now handles all content with UTF-8 [Unicode] character encoding. For the user this means not having the switch languages in the user preferences to read messages composed in character sets that are not supported by their current language setting. Fonts required by various languages are crucial so if your computer is not enabled with Japanese fonts, for example, then you will need to install the appropriate font packs to view the messages.
Optimized Contact Sorting If you're sorting contacts by a certain field contacts that don't have any value in that field will be pushed to the end of the result so that the most relevant contacts will be returned first.
LookOut Specific Changes & Features AutoComplete When you are composing a new message the To field will give you auto-complete options for your contacts, you can use the mouse or keyboard arrows to select the contact you would like to use. Once the contact is highlighted you can press either enter to select the contact or tab to select the contact and move to the next form field.
Free/Busy Scheduler When you need to schedule a meeting for multiple attendees it can be difficult to find a block of time that will most likely work for all attendees. With Free/Busy you can check multiple WorldClient calendars at one time. Just add attendees' email addresses to the dialog to see their schedules. With the next available time lookup you can set a time span and ask WorldClient to find the next available time.
Message Filter Sorting With Drag & Drop If you use message filters you can now organize filters by dragging and dropping them into the order you desire. This can speed up moving a filter to a new location in your filter order.
Special WorldClient Free/Busy Server WorldClient can now act as a free/busy server for Microsoft Outlook. By Configuring Outlook to point to WorldClient with the following URL structure you can access the information.
http://<WorldClient Server><:Port>/Worldclient.dll?view=fbinfo&user=%NAME%@%SERVER%
Replace <WorldClient Server> with the IP or name of your WorldClient server. Replace <:Port> with a colon followed by the port where your WorldClient is running. If you are using TCP/80 you can replace <:Port> with nothing. See the help file for your specific version of Microsoft Outlook to learn where and how to configure the Free/Busy server information. |
